CNC Steel Production Equipment Operator

Overview Industrial Contracting and Engineering and Professional Fabricators, a direct-hire, multi-disciplined industrial construction services and metal fabrication company is seeking a CNC Steel Production Equipment Operator to help support a variety of projects in our Angola, Indiana fabrication shop. (UA Local 166 – Metal Trades) Job Description The CNC Steel Production Equipment Operator will be required to operate a CNC Beam Drill machine along with additional CNC equipment as needed. The operator will utilize a high degree of computer and manual cutting ability to optimize the equipment to its maximum potential. They will need knowledge and understanding of CNC machine programs. Safety is the most crucial part of all jobs within IC&E / ProFab; therefore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards always. Responsibilities: Oversee and operate the beamline and other CNC equipment. Produce quality parts that meet customer and IC&E / ProFab expectations. Adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements. Ensure a safe work environment for self and coworkers. Participate and perform daily regular cleaning, and maintenance troubleshooting of equipment. Train and ensure an understanding of other positions on the beamline. Layout, read, and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and other company documents. Operate heavy steel fabrication machinery according to company policies. Load and unload equipment with material manually or with the following equipment: overhead crane, forklifts, magnets, clamps, straps, etc. Ensure materials are properly marked and stamped when they leave their work area. Perform other routine duties per management direction. Additional shop tasks to support production needs as required Qualifications: One year of manufacturing experience Previous experience operating and programming beamline/CNC equipment. Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts. This position requires membership with Local 166 Metal Trades out of Fort Wayne and is dependent upon union acceptance Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a closely related vocational training course is preferred but not required.
