Responsibilities of the Dietary Aide: Assist in the preparation and service of beverages and foods as assigned Wash dishes Coordinate daily dietary services with the nursing staff Read and interpret Diet Cards Prep food Clean kitchen Deliver food to residents' rooms Set up and take down dining areas May take inventory of food and supplies Ensure work areas are clean, organized and safe Requirements: of the Dietary Aide: Food Handlers Certification required Food handling experience required Basic awareness/knowledge of sanitation practices as it relates to food preparation Experience in a long term care facility a plus Ability to read, speak and understand English and have good verbal and written communication skills Must have compassion and tolerance for older adults Must pass a complete background check, which may include fingerprinting, and be deemed eligible for hire by the Illinois Department of Public Health Generations at Rock Island is a 24/7 skilled nursing community that provides quality care and support to the Quad Cities senior community.
