Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy position working in an outpatient clinic in close collaboration with Uro-gynecology providers. Services are primarily focused on Women's Health / Pelvic Floor issues however also serve men with pelvic floor pain and dysfunction. UNMH is New Mexico's only Level 1 trauma center and the state's premier teaching hospital. Members of the Women's Health P.T. team often collaborate with the providers to present continuing education programs and frequently participate in Uro-gynecology fellows' interviews and research. Many of our therapists also teach in the UNM Physical Therapy program. Experience preferred however, new grads are welcome and, if selected, will be supported with a strong mentorship program.Receive 17% Weekday Nights, 26% Weekend Nights and 15% Weekend Day shift differentialsDepartment: WHC Physical TherapyFull TimeShift: DaysOrganize and deliver medically-prescribed physical therapy to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of a body part. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.THERAPY - Evaluate patient to determine treatment goals; outline delivery of therapy according to assessed needs; plan therapy program involving physical means to include exercise, massage, heat, sound, water, light, and electricityCONSULTATION - Consult with medical staff on patient careEDUCATION - Educate patient in use of specialized equipment, posture control, and therapeutic proceduresINSTRUCTION - Instruct caregivers on prescribed physical therapy regimen; instruct patients and caregivers on home and personal safety in various environmentsTHERAPY - Adapt therapy techniques to meet patient needsTRAINING - Conduct training for medical, nursing and ancillary personnel in therapy techniques and objectives; provide clinical direction through mentoring, planning and implementing staff in-service trainingSUPERVISION - Supervise and instruct Physical Therapy students and volunteers as delegated; DOCUMENTATION - Document all patient care activities; process patient billingSUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT - Order supplies and equipmentCUSTOMER RELATIONS - Establish and maintain good rapport and effective working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and Hospitals employeesPATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocolsPATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processesPATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue riskPATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely mannerBachelor's DegreeBilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or NavajoCPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days* NM Physical Therapist License or Temporary LicenseMed Haz: Mod exposure to chemicals/dangerous equip/materials* Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as requiredSign-On Bonus AvailableRelocation Assistance Available
