As a Bridge Engineer, you will support the engineering design of structures. You will provide top-of-the-industry engineering services that are verified through a rigorous QC process. You will create connections with team members. Your efforts will support in developing client relationships through utilizing cutting-edge technology, innovation, and designing infrastructure that will last.What are the core responsibilities for the role?Design or check retaining wall and other structural components in support of roadway or site civil projectsPrepare structure type selection studiesWork in cooperation with bridge staff to deliver PS&E contract documents on time and within the project budget for local agencies, federal agencies, and state DOTsPerform bridge designs and load ratings using spreadsheets, finite element software and/or other bridge softwareDesign or check retaining wall and other structural components in support of roadway or site civil projectsAssist the local team to establish and maintain client relationships; ability to coordinate and communicate with clients to ensure project design objectives are met and achieve client satisfactionAssist in building a strong regional presence for the firm in transportation related structural engineeringQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:B.S. degree in Civil Engineering (Master's with a structures emphasis a plus)Passed P.E. exam (Registered P.E. a plus)3-7 years of experienceKnowledgeable in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicrostationHave a strong sense of self-initiative to meet client deadlinesPrioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managersExperience working in bridge design teamManage project data files from various sourcesBe proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and virtually/remotelyAbility to travel and perform fieldwork on occasionMust be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing prioritiesWhy would a candidate want this job?At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
