Facilities Electrical Engineer
Freese and Nichols is seeking an Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, or Houston, Texas. As Electrical Engineer, you will design and deliver electrical systems that support critical infrastructure across water, wastewater, municipal, and commercial projects while helping teams solve complex engineering challenges and grow their technical capabilities.
What You'll Do
Analyze existing electrical systems and recommend cost-effective improvements and modifications
Design complete electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, generator systems, and controls for building systems
Develop project designs from planning through construction, including equipment evaluation and field verification
Perform site visits, witness testing, and support construction-phase services
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with technical accuracy
Lead and mentor junior engineers in design development and professional growth
Provide quality control reviews for design documents to ensure technical adequacy
Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
4+ years of experience in facility engineering
Experience across project phases including planning, design, and construction
Experience working with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
Preferred
Proficiency in electrical power, lighting, and generator design for building electrical systems.
Ability to be licensed as a PE in other states within US
Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of construction documents
Proficiency in REVIT
