OverviewPosition Summary:Responsible for planning, supervising, performing, and coordinating all phases of pre-commissioning, hot commissioning, maintenance, repair and inspection of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and service work in new or remodeled facilities. Responsible for planning day to day activities for Commissioning Techs. May be asked to do other activities within the company construction group like overseeing 3rd Party testing, etc. to further construction for commissioning to commence.ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:Ability to interpret site specifications, wiring schematics, IFC DrawingsAssist in lay out of work for crew or crews in a solar field projectPreplan daily activities and ensure crew productivity to meet job scheduleMonitor quality control of work in place by Commissioning TechsSupport the coordination of tooling needs and certifications for testing equipmentComply with all documentation requirements and fill out all project related reports, such as: Daily Reports, Safety Reports, ESRs, Inspection Reports, commissioning documents, time sheets, etc.Support with the coordination of equipment needs, ensure operators are qualified and ensure that all equipment is maintained, and repairs are done in a timely mannerSupport jobsite Commissioning Manager to coordinate activities of projects commissioning phaseMay perform related tech work as requiredUtilize various software's for tracking, recording, and executing commissioning testsImplement better testing methods for production in all aspects of job to strengthen best practices within the companyMonitor Commissioning Techs for quality issuesMonitor work areas to ensure quality work is being completedLook for ways to improve safety, quality and productivityPromote and comply with all Company and safety policies and proceduresTrain and instruct crew members in safe work practices for assigned tasksAudit safe work practices, ensuring PPE is available and used properlyAssist Human Resources and Commissioning Manager by interviewing, hiring, training, appraising work performance and addressing complaints of employees in the fieldDirectly supervise and coordinate daily activities of commissioning techsSupport ESRs for all employees with a change in job status (transfer, laid off, terminated)Conduct regular performance reviews of crew members as directed.Manage up to six or more employeesTrain and mentor new Commissioning TechsInvest time and effort in enhancing apprentices' skills and knowledge - champion the processProvide positive environment to support coaching and mentoring of apprenticesCommit to accurate classification to ensure PWA (Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship) compliance when applicableRequired to travel to different jobsites on a limited noticeOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequirementsEducation and Work Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferredFive years relevant technical experienceOne year of direct management experience of leading teamsElectrical Turnover and Walkdown ExperienceUnderstanding of AC/DCOSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, NFPA Arc Flash certificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company's Zero Injury principlesProficient in use of testing equipment and testing technicsCapable of supervising a project of six or more craft workersRead blueprints and wire schematics proficientlyAbility to write and comprehend Commissioning test procedures and documentationProficient in LOTO and IsolationsAbility to motivate workers, lead by example and communicate effectivelyComputer experience in Microsoft Office and E-mail Communication preferredAbility to work well under pressure and within timelinesWorking Environment: Regularly exposed to outside weather conditionsFrequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, electrical shock, precarious places, and extreme heatOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibrationNoise level in the work environment is usually loudFinancial Wellbeing Compensation: $35.00-$40.00/hourly, commensurate with experienceCompetitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase401(k) with company match & Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Flexible spending account (Healthcare & Dependent care)Health & Wellness Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (plan choice) - coverage for spouse, domestic partner, and childrenDiabetes Management, Telehealth Coverage, Prescription Drug PlanMasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
