Job Summary JOB DESCRIPTION The Electrical Engineer, DC Power develops the electrical content within technical customer proposals for Vertiv's Modular Power Converters product line. This role works under the direction of the Project Proposals & Global Engineering Lead, producing technical specification documents, single-line diagrams, and customer-facing electrical content. A key responsibility is reviewing project designs developed by Global design teams to verify accuracy against customer expectations and requirements.ResponsibilitiesDraft electrical specification documents for customer packages, including single-line diagrams, power architecture layouts, and protection coordination schemesPerform load calculations and system sizing for DC power distribution configurationsCreate customer-facing electrical content - system descriptions, functional overviews, protection philosophy, and redundancy explanationsMaintain proposal templates and standard electrical content library for reuse across bidsReview project designs (electrical) under Proposals Lead for accuracy to customer expectationsVerify requirements traceability - ensure every customer electrical requirement has a corresponding specification responseIdentify discrepancies between customer requirements and proposed design; escalate to Proposals LeadCollaborate with team members to ensure electrical and mechanical package content is consistentSupport Global design teams with electrical specification clarifications during detailed design phaseSupport compliance team with electrical content for certification packages as neededRequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field2+ years of experience in power systems, power distribution, or power electronics designExperience with single-line diagrams, power architecture layouts, and protection coordination for DC distributionExperience with load calculations, system sizing, and protection device sizingAbility to produce clear, customer-ready specification documentsAccuracy in translating customer requirements to design specificationsProficiency with Siemens Xpedition (preferred), AutoCAD Electrical, Visio, or equivalent drawing toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience in telecom or data center power infrastructureFamiliarity with DC distribution architectures (48VDC, 54VDC, 800VDC)Experience with UL/NEC/IEC standards as applied to power distributionPrevious proposal, bid, or design engineering roleExperience with monitoring/control systems (SNMP, Modbus, CAN bus)Familiarity with thermal management in power systemsTravel Requirements5-10%, including internationallyThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.OUR CORE PRINCIPALS: Safety, Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, Diversity & Inclusion.OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES Customer FocusOperational ExcellenceHigh-Performance CultureInnovationFinancial StrengthOUR BEHAVIORS Own ItAct With UrgencyFoster a Customer-First MindsetThink Big and ExecuteLead by ExampleDrive Continuous ImprovementLearn and Seek Out DevelopmentVertiv is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
