Software Test Engineer
OverviewThe Software Test Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and functionality of software products before they are released to the customers. They are responsible for designing and implementing test strategies, conducting manual and automated tests, and identifying and reporting defects. The role is crucial in upholding the overall quality standards of the software development process and ensuring that the end products meet the specified requirements.Key responsibilitiesDesigning and developing test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on software requirementsExecuting functional, regression, and performance tests to identify defects and ensure software qualityPerforming automated testing using industry-standard tools and frameworksCollaborating with software developers to resolve and retest identified defectsMaintaining and enhancing automated test suites to mitigate software regressionCreating and managing defect tracking reports and documentationParticipating in the continuous improvement of the testing process and methodologiesConducting compatibility testing on various operating systems, devices, and browsersContributing to the validation of software design and architectural decisionsProviding input to enhance the user experience and usability of software productsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldProven experience in software testing and quality assurance practicesProficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or C++Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks like Selenium, Appium, or JUnitStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologiesAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentSolid knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail)Good understanding of database management and SQL queriesEffective communication skills and the ability to clearly report and document test resultsSkills: software testing,test automation,defect tracking,quality assurance,programming languages,software,testing,automation tools,automation
