Batching Lead

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated 1st Shift (6:30AM-5PM) Batching Lead in the pharmaceutical industry to lead and oversee daily production operations within our client's manufacturing facility in Columbus, IN. This pivotal role involves managing a team of production staff, ensuring safety standards are upheld, and maintaining high-quality output. The ideal candidate will drive efficiency, foster a collaborative work environment, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to operational excellence and product quality in a dynamic manufacturing setting. Responsibilities Supervise daily manufacturing activities to meet production targets while adhering to safety and quality standards Coordinate staffing schedules, assign tasks, and monitor team performance to optimize productivity Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all operations Implement and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and quality Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the production process and develop solutions for continuous improvement Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule equipment inspections and address technical issues promptly Maintain accurate production records, report on key performance indicators (KPIs), and support operational audits Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, training, and motivation Assist in onboarding new team members and provide ongoing coaching to enhance skills Support inventory management by coordinating with logistics for raw materials and finished goods Skills Proven experience in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing supervision or a similar leadership role within a production environment Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards within a GMP/FDA environment Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Effective communication skills to lead teams and collaborate across departments Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze situations and implement timely solutions Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting This role is integral to maintaining operational excellence within our manufacturing facility.
