Direct Client RequirementRole: IT Project ManagerLocation: Midtown NYC office at least three days per weekDuration: C2H Role SummaryThe IT Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that all IT deliverables supporting insurance operations are executed professionally, accurately, and in alignment with business objectives. This role owns project direction, requirements clarity, functional integrity, and stakeholder alignment.The position blends deep insurance domain knowledge with IT solution leadership. The individual partners closely with business stakeholders, advising on the most effective ways to achieve business goals while ensuring technology solutions fully support those objectives. As an IT Project Manager, the individual leads the development team, facilitates Agile ceremonies, and demonstrates leadership through subject‐matter expertise and execution discipline.This role requires strong familiarity with insurance industry practices. Knowledge of insurance workflows and brokerage operations is mandatory.The IT Project Manager plans and delivers technology initiatives by coordinating cross‐functional teams, managing scope, timelines, and risk, and ensuring successful software delivery through a strong understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile.This is a consulting role and requires on‐site presence at Client's Midtown New York office at least three days per week. This is not a remote position. Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Leadership & VisionServe as the steward of Client's internal IT products, ensuring all enhancements and features meet defined business needs.Reviews user stories and acceptance criteria to drive shared understanding.Define project goals and maintain a cohesive roadmap aligned with business objectives and project management best practices.Earn and maintain the trust of the development team through demonstrated expertise and leadership.Project ManagementLead end‐to‐end IT projects, managing scope, schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure high‐quality, on‐time delivery.Coordinate cross‐functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals.Apply strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, to guide project execution.Identify, manage, and communicate risks, dependencies, and issues, providing regular status updates to leadership.Business Partnership & AdvisoryAct as the primary advisor to business stakeholders, recommending optimal system workflows, data models, and process improvements.Provide subject‐matter expertise across insurance terminology, lines of business, policy workflows, underwriting, invoicing, claims, and brokerage operations.Guide stakeholders toward solutions that balance business value, regulatory compliance, and long‐term maintainability.Cross‐Functional CollaborationWork closely with development, QA, UX, data, and analyst teams to ensure consistent understanding of requirements.Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve dependencies and integration challenges.Quality & Delivery AssuranceValidate completed deliverables against acceptance criteria and functional expectations.Support testing efforts by clarifying expected behaviors and reviewing test results.Monitor delivery metrics and recommend continuous improvements aligned with data‐driven decision‐making practices. QualificationsRequiredConsulting engagement requiring on‐site presence at Client's Midtown New York office at least three days per week.Strong knowledge of insurance brokerage processes, including policy administration, underwriting, quoting, renewals, and claims.Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Strong project management skillsExperience with Agile development teams and IT solution delivery.Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical deliverables.PreferredExperience with insurance technology platforms such as policy administration systems, CRM tools, and quoting/binding solutions.Prior experience as a Product Owner, Project Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role within an insurance organization.Property insurance experience strongly preferred.PMP and insurance‐related certifications are a plus.
