DescriptionPlease note the submission deadline of May 4, 2025.Position SummaryThe Grants Manager plays a critical role in advancing TGTHR’s fundraising strategy and overall organizational development by securing revenue through government, foundation, and corporate grants. This position leads the full grant lifecycle, from prospecting and proposal development to compliance, reporting, and stewardship, ensuring timely, accurate, and compelling submissions that support TGTHR’s mission.The Grants Manager works cross-functionally with development, finance, and program teams to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities and impact.Key ResponsibilitiesGrant Writing & Revenue GenerationLead the development, writing, and submission of high-quality grant proposals to federal, state, and local governments, as well as foundations and corporationsPartner with the Development Team to raise $1.8 million annually through institutional funding sources Develop and manage an annual grants strategy, including revenue goals and performance trackingFunder Relations & StewardshipServe as a liaison, in partnership with the Development Team, for institutional funders, building and maintaining strong relationshipsIdentify and pursue new funding opportunities through ongoing prospect researchSupport and guide the Director of Development, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer in cultivating new funder relationships and stewarding current funder relationshipsGrant Management & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all grant requirements, including federal, state, and local regulationsManage grant reporting, including timely submission of progress and final reportsOversee grant invoicing in coordination with finance staffTrack restricted funding to ensure proper allocation and avoid overlap with other funding sourcesCollaboration & Data Management Work with program staff to gather outcomes, outputs, and impact dataCollaborate with finance and program teams to develop accurate grant budgets Work with Director of Communications to collect stories, statistics, and program insights to strengthen proposals and reportsSystems & OrganizationMaintain a comprehensive grants calendar with deadlines for proposals and reportsEnsure accurate and up-to-date records in the organization’s CRM, SalesforceProcess grant acknowledgements and maintain funder communicationsProfessional Development & Sector AwarenessStay informed on trends, research, and best practices related to youth homelessness and nonprofit fundingAttend relevant trainings, funder meetings, and community events as appropriateRequirementsQualificationsRequiredAt least 5 years of grant writing experience, including demonstrated success securing fundingExperience with foundation research and prospecting toolsExcellent writing, editing, and communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailPreferredExperience managing federal or government grants and contractsStrong understanding of social justice issues, particularly at the intersection of youth homelessness and race, gender, sexuality, ability, immigration, and socioeconomicsFamiliarity with federal grant processes, including pre-award requirements and compliance regulationsExperience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or similarFamiliarity with web-based grant submission platformsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and data managementCore CompetenciesCommitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusionStrong collaboration and teamwork skillsAccountability and ability to manage multiple deadlinesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentWorking ConditionsAbility to sit for extended periods and work on a computerAbility to pass a background check in accordance with applicable lawsComfortable working in an office environment with moderate noise levels and around program participants
