Resource Navigator
The Sheldon Resource Navigator will work on-site at Sheldon High School to provide afternoon staffing at the Sheldon Wellness Center for Sheldon High School students and families. This position will foster a supportive and inclusive environment for Sheldon students by welcoming them to the Wellness Center, helping them feel comfortable while they wait for counseling staff, and connecting them to in-school and community resources as needed using the Rapid Access Network (see further information below).
The Resource Navigator will work from approximately 12pm-3pm on school days. This is a limited-duration position for the 2026–2027 school year. Employees in this position work according to the approved school-year calendar and are scheduled only on days school is in session and other designated workdays (approximately 170 days total). Employment ends at the close of the school year.

Additional information:
The Rapid Access Network (RAN) is a software application developed by the 15th Night program to connect youth in need to a network of resources and services in real time. Resources include: shelter/housing, clothing/shoes, food, school supplies, counseling, mentor/peer support, transportation, LGBTQIA2S+ support, employment resources, application assistance, BIPOC support, education options, and more.
RAN advocates learn about youth needs and enter alerts into the system to connect youth to resources and services. RAN responders are service providers and community members who respond to alerts and provide resources and services to youth. Community responders only receive general information about youth needs and are given opportunities to support youth in ways that protect youth identity and privacy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Greet students who arrive at the Wellness Center to meet with mental health professionals by welcoming students, directing them to a comfortable place to sit, and asking them to wait until their counselor is available.
· Create a welcoming environment by greeting students, building positive relationships, and monitoring the Wellness Center waiting area to ensure students feel safe, supported, and connected to available services.
· Assist students in navigating available school and community resources and provide ongoing support as needed.
· Utilize both school-based and community Rapid Access Networks (RANs) to document student needs, send alerts for resources, and communicate with providers to ensure needs are met.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local resources and services in the RAN to effectively respond to student needs, coordinating with the 4J 15th Night Program Coordinator and attending 15th Night Network meetings as needed.
· Attend monthly check-in meetings with supervisor.
· Monitor the RANs and respond to review and respond to alerts sent to the Sheldon Resource Navigator and connect students to the appropriate Sheldon resources.
· Act as a liaison between students and school staff to ensure students’ needs are met, as needed.
· Maintain professional boundaries with all students.

Qualifications and Experience
· BA/BS degree with coursework appropriate to the positions and at least 1 year of related experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience appropriate to the position.
· Experience working with youth or students preferred.
Physical, Mental, and Visual Demands
Must interpret spoken and written communication in English.
Must effectively communicate verbally in English or effectively communicate non-verbally in English with reasonable accommodation.
Must visually observe and interpret data contained on written forms or in computer files.
Must sit for periods of time (3-4 hours).
Must type into a PC.
Must lift boxes and stacks of documents (10-30 pounds on an occasional basis).
Must kneel to fill copier paper tray.
Must access a range of schools and public places (e.g., manage stairs).
