The company has 2 core businesses, The Machine Clothing (MC) segment -is the world's leading producer of custom-designed fabrics and belts essential to production in the paper, nonwovens, and other process industries and Engineered Composites (EC) is a rapidly growing supplier of highly engineered composite parts for the aerospace industry.The Staff Accountant position supports procedures and objectives in international financial accounting where goals are to provide timely and accurate financial information to internal and external users, while maintaining internal controls over financial processes. Works with other departments, including FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and HR to gather information necessary for accurate accounting. The Staff Accountant reports to the US Accounting Manager.ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of specific areas within the balance sheet, such as accrued liabilitiesPerform balance sheet account reconciliationsPrepare and record journal entries including allocations calculation and some cross company entriesParticipate heavily in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes according to GAAPManage the accounting around payroll, royalties, professional fees, and workers compensationDeliver and meet deadlines according to internal, external, and government reporting requestsSupport the Accounting manager in internal and external audit reviewResponsible for ensuring compliance with documented accounting policies and Sarbanes-Oxley controlsParticipate in special projects as requestedExperience RequirementsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work with cross functional departmentsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to manage multi project deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh proficiency with Microsoft applications is requiredExperience using an ERP system, SAP experience is a plusAbility to prioritize daily activitiesAbility to meet firm deadlinesEducationBachelor's preferred in accounting combined with 3-5 years of general accounting or corporate accounting experience within a public company or a large multi-national company.SAP experience a plusMS Office suite: Outlook, Excel, WordRemuneration & Benefits/ OtherLocation: Portsmouth, NH.
