Job Title: Medical Front Desk Receptionist / SchedulerLocation: Philadelphia, PAIndustry: Non-Profit HealthcarePay: $18-20/hrJob SummaryA well-established non-profit healthcare organization in Philadelphia is seeking a Medical Front Desk Receptionist / Scheduler to join its team. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional patient experience while managing provider schedules and ensuring accurate patient registration within the practice management system.Key ResponsibilitiesAnswer and manage incoming calls in a professional and timely mannerGreet patients warmly; handle check-in, registration, and schedulingMaintain and update accurate patient records, including insurance and contact informationManage provider schedules and coordinate Medical Assistant visits per internal processesSchedule patient appointments across multiple locations and partner agenciesConduct appointment confirmation callsVerify insurance coverage or uninsured status; direct patients to Benefits Counselor as neededCollect applicable patient fees in accordance with the Sliding Fee SchedulePrepare daily mailings and support front office administrative tasksEnsure patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy standardsMaintain a welcoming, organized, and calm front desk environmentAssist with visitor check-in, package handling, scanning, and general office supportSupport cross-training initiatives, including Dental Front Desk functions as neededMonitor facility access and report any unusual activity Additional ResponsibilitiesEducate patients on Wellness Center policies and proceduresAssist patients with Primary Care Physician changes when neededSupport insurance eligibility processes alongside the Benefits CounselorPerform other duties as assigned by management QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required1+ year of medical front desk, scheduling, or healthcare administrative experience preferredStrong customer service skills with a patient-first mindsetProficiency in Microsoft Office and practice management systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProfessional phone etiquette and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment What We OfferOpportunity to work with a mission-driven non-profit organizationCollaborative and supportive team environmentMeaningful work serving the local community
