HVAC-Service/Install Tech

Job Title: Field Service Technician (HVAC-Service/Install) Location: BWI Airport to Ashburn, VA Area of work: Able to drive within a 60-mile radius servicing sites. Duration: 3-month Contract ( with strong extension possibility or conversion) Pay range $25-$30.00 per hour on W@ Top Skills: Engineering Degree Required, strong HVAC skills in refrigeration, strong trouble shooting and maintenance experienceExpenses: Mileage provided while driving to work sites in the area.Mileage is to the site and between sites is covered.The mileage home is not covered.One direction pay on days they go to sites other than the office address.On days there is no drive to a site, the technician isn t always required to come to the office address. Key Responsibilities:Perform diagnostic evaluations, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC systemsInstall, maintain, and repair heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipmentConduct system performance tests and ensure units meet manufacturer and code standardsPerform routine maintenance, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and component inspectionsProvide excellent customer service while explaining repair needs, options, and recommendationsComplete work orders, service reports, and documentation accuratelyMaintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working conditionFollow all safety guidelines, company policies, and applicable codes and regulationsParticipate in on call rotation for after-hours or emergency serviceCommunicate effectively with dispatch, management, and customers Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDHVAC trade school certificate or equivalent experienceMinimum 2+ years experience preferred (or entry level for apprentice roles)Valid EPA 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal preferred)Valid driver s license with a clean driving recordStrong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skillsAbility to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manualsStrong customer service and communication abilitiesAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environments, including outdoors, rooftops, and confined spacesPreferred Skills (Optional)Experience with smart thermostats and building automationFamiliarity with both residential and light commercial systemsBoiler and/or chiller experienceElectrical and refrigeration backgroundKitchen equipment and/or refrigeration experience Work Environment & Schedule:Field based role with daily travel to customer locations Required Skills:High school diploma or GEDHVAC trade school certificate or equivalent experienceMinimum 2+ years experience preferred (or entry level for apprentice roles)Valid EPA 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal preferred)Valid driver s license with a clean driving recordStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manualsStrong customer service and communication abilities
