Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Estimator who will be responsible for producing detailed estimates in a timely manner and assisting in negotiations. - Review Project Documents and prepare scopes by division - Prepare definitive quantity takeoffs complete with budget pricing using historical data and RS Means - Ensure subcontractor coverage and coordinate submission of quotes - Organize Plans and Specs files on company server - Develop accurate and timely construction estimates - Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications - Build relationships with local subcontractors - Work under deadline pressure in an efficient, composed, and calm manner - Support on change orders and cost-to complete estimates of on-going projects - Perform job handoffs from estimating to operations through clearly demonstrating detailed scopes of work, specifications, and job specific conditions. - Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative - Draft scope letters, proposals, and vendors solicitations - Attend job walks; pre-bid meetings; collaborations and conferences with clients and design professionals. - Prepare estimates from excel, take offs, and bid scope summaries to ensures timely completion - Reviews bid opportunities and outlines the pros and cons of going after each project for a go/no-go decision; estimate sizes could range from $1 million to $25 million. - Assist with the development of estimating procedures and guidelines This job description is not intended to be all inclusive. Qualifications - Must contain a bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 10 years of related experience as a General Construction Estimator - Must be proficient in all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and Primavera Scheduling software - Must have advance knowledge of Estimating software - Must be able to bid on multiple projects concurrently - Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with subcontractors and vendors. - Must contain a deep knowledge of commercial construction materials and methods - Ideal candidate will possess strong management, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills - Must have the ability to perform difficult and complex estimating activities typical to the engineering and construction industry - Must have the right mentality: team first mindset, a great team player, self motivated, gets along with supervisors, peers and subordinates, 100% ownership mentality Summary Pre Con Industries, Inc is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Estimator to join our construction Team.
