System Administrator, Level 4

What You Will Do:As a System Administrator Level 4 at Independent Software, you will support mission-critical IT systems in highly secure, high-availability environments. You will work across Linux and Windows platforms to ensure systems are secure, stable, and operating at peak performance.In this role, you will lead troubleshooting efforts, support Desktop Services operations, and manage system configurations across enterprise infrastructure. You will collaborate with engineers, ISSOs, and program leadership to maintain compliance, resolve complex issues, and ensure reliable system operations in classified environments.Key Responsibilities:Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for system issues across client, server, storage, and network environmentsConfigure, manage, and maintain Linux and Windows operating systemsMonitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve reliabilityPerform account management and support user access to IT systemsApply patches, conduct vulnerability scans, and support system security complianceSupport configuration management and system changes in coordination with ISSO and leadershipAnalyze and resolve complex technical issues across infrastructure and applicationsSupport Desktop Services environments, including VDI and thin client technologiesCommunicate system status and provide updates to stakeholdersRequired Skills and Qualifications:Strong experience with Linux and Windows system administrationAdvanced troubleshooting across enterprise IT environmentsExperience with IT Service Management (ITSM) processesKnowledge of networking, storage, and system security practicesFamiliarity with patching, vulnerability management, and compliance requirementsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, classified environmentEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience20+ years of System Administrator experience on similar programs8+ years supporting IT Service Management (ITSM)Certifications:Active DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level III certification (required to start)ITIL v4 CertificationOS CertificationClearance Requirement:Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this roleWhy Choose Independent Software:At Independent Software, our people are the mission.
