You help create a welcoming, safe, and organized experience for guests while keeping daily operations moving-from rentals and fees to facility readiness.Key ResponsibilitiesOpen and close the facility, manage the cash box, collect fees, and balance daily revenueRent boats, kayaks, life jackets, and equipment; prepare, clean, and stage items for useMaintain attendance logs, revenue records, and seasonal pass salesSupport recreation programs and attend program-related meetingsKeep the facility clean and guest-ready, including light grounds work and general upkeepWhat You Bring – Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GEDComfortable working independently while following established policies and safety proceduresPreferred CertificationsFirst Aid and CPR Certification (required or obtained shortly after hire)Valid Indiana Driver's License (if operating a City vehicle)Technical Skills & KnowledgeBasic math skills for handling cash, balancing records, and processing feesAbility to read and follow safety rules, procedures, and operating instructionsClear verbal and written communication skillsWhy Work for the City of Fort Wayne This role puts you outdoors, connects you with the community, and lets you play a hands-on part in providing safe, enjoyable recreation experiences.
