Assistant Project Manager
Under the direction of the Division Manager, the Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting project managers, senior project managers and project executives with the successful installation of construction projects.
Qualifications
Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 0 to 3 years of exposure to construction processes.
Certificates/Licenses: Valid driver’s license. Satisfactory driving record.
Physical Job Requirements: Required to sit, stand and move throughout Company facilities. Must be able to perform job responsibilities in an industrial, construction site and general outdoor environment around heavy machinery and equipment.

Technical Skills: This position requires proficiency in commonly used construction terms, tools, concepts and practices; proficiency in industry safety practices, procedures and equipment; the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints; proficiency in basic financial terms and concepts; and proficiency with general office and project management software (preferably Spectrum).

Key Activities
1. Project Preparation. Obtain detailed understanding of assigned projects (contract specifications, terms, scope, alternates, estimated costs and planned installation methods). Prepare project documentation. Enter jobs and purchase orders into the job cost system.
2. Project Documentation. Organize and maintain all required project documentation in accordance with Company standards including job files, contracts, change orders, equipment submittals, RFI’s and equipment manuals.
3. Project Management Assistance. Acquire all necessary permits, bonds, licenses and registrations. Arrange for all necessary job inspections. Document inspection activities and results. Coordinate delivery of equipment/material to project.
4. Project Financials. Prepare financial reports and analyses for project managers. Assist with collection issues as requested by Finance.
5. General Assistance. Review and edit field timecards for payroll entry. Support the Division’s sales activities by assisting with the preparation of bids and prequalification forms.
6. Participate in the development and implementation of Company best practices.
