RN or LPN is acceptable. Diabetic experience is preferred; as is experience working with kiddos. ESA is not required, but a current WA DoH license with no School Nurses must have a BSN or higher, as they must obtain an ESA certificate prior to starting. As with other disciplines, they work 7.5 hours per day on student contact days. School Nurses get 7 extra days before school begins to review Emergency Health Plans at their building(s) and ensure their Health Room is prepared for incoming students. As expected, a School Nurse (BSN) must have a current WA DoH license with no Enforcement Action. School Nurses must also have an NPI # in place shortly after starting.
