Job description
We are looking for a material planner to be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate flow of materials to support production schedules, minimizing disruptions and maximizing production efficiency. You’ll spend a lot of your time coordinating with our procurement team, production teams, and engineers to ensure optimal inventory levels, manage material shortages, and adjust plans as needed to meet production demands.
Job Responsibilites
Material Planning & Scheduling:
Develop and execute material plans based on production schedules, demand forecasts, and inventory levels.
Ensure timely procurement of materials to prevent production delays.
Monitor material usage and adjust plans to meet changing production requirements.
Inventory Management:
Track and maintain accurate inventory levels to avoid excess stock or shortages.
Implement strategies to minimize inventory costs while ensuring material availability.
Conduct regular inventory checks and reconciliations.
Supplier Coordination:
Communicate and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Resolve issues related to material quality, delays, or shortages with suppliers.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize lead times and costs.
Production Support:
Collaborate with production teams to understand material needs and adjust supply plans as necessary.
Ensure materials are delivered to the production floor in line with schedules.
Address any material issues that may arise during production and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them quickly.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze material consumption data and forecast future needs.
Generate reports on material usage, inventory status, and supplier performance.
Identify trends and suggest improvements to enhance material planning processes.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in or lead initiatives to improve material planning processes, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
Implement best practices for material management and planning.
Requirements and Skills
Experience:
3+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain management, or production planning.
Experience in manufacturing or production environments is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of material planning, supply chain principles, and inventory management.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, production teams, and other stakeholders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
