SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Join our multidisciplinary team to offer comprehensive speech therapy services that create a meaningful impact.In this essential position, you will implement and deliver speech-language pathology treatment methods as directed by physicians; assess, plan, direct, and treat individuals receiving therapy services, aiding them in maximizing their functional abilities and independence while accommodating the challenges posed by their disabilities. Additionally, you will play a role in departmental performance and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives that promote outstanding patient-centered care.Primary Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess, diagnose, and treat disorders related to speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing, while establishing personalized treatment objectives.Design and execute effective individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.Carry out swallowing and related clinical assessments, promptly communicate findings, and suggest dietary adjustments to minimize aspiration risks.Track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to enhance outcomes.Ensure accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, interventions, and patient progress in medical records.Contribute to departmental quality, safety, and performance enhancement initiatives through active collaboration across disciplines.Involve patients and their families in the care plan, addressing psychosocial, cultural, and educational needs with respect and professionalism.Qualifications:Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.Experience in a hospital setting.Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State.ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification.Proficiency in using CSL and nasometry equipment.Ability to foster lasting relationships with patients and their families.A collaborative professional with strong verbal and written communication skills.Capacity to work cooperatively, remain adaptable, and uphold professionalism in a dynamic environment.Situated in the vibrant heart of Downtown Brooklyn, our organization is a clinical affiliate of a prominent hospital and an academic partner of a leading medical school.
