We respectfully request that 3rd parties refrain from contacting us regarding this posting.OverviewLABUR is partnering with a client to identify a Senior Project Manager, Application Rationalization to lead an enterprise-wide application rationalization program, including execution within mergers, acquisitions, and corporate separation activities. This senior, hands-on role drives complex, multi-year initiatives focused on reducing application footprint, cost, and risk while enabling platform standardization and alignment to target-state architectures. A key focus involves managing the transition of acquired software applications into the client's environment, where speed, clarity, and separation readiness are critical. The position coordinates across IT, business functions, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Finance, and third-party partners.ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end application rationalization program, owning outcomes, timelines, budget, and realized benefits across multiple domains and geographiesDrive application portfolio assessment, validation, and disposition decisioning (retain, retire, consolidate, replace, migrate) aligned to enterprise standards and target-state architecturesManage the transition of acquired software applications into the client's environment, overseeing migrations, consolidations, retirements, and decommissioningOwn program-level financial management, partnering with Finance to quantify, track, and report cost savings and run-cost reductionEstablish and run program governance, steering committees, and executive decision forums while delivering clear, regular status reporting to senior leadershipProactively manage risks, issues, and interdependencies across the application and transformation portfolio, driving structured change management to minimize business disruptionManage system integrators and third-party vendors, holding partners accountable to scope, milestones, and outcomes across assessment, migration, and decommissioning phasesMaintain a single source of truth for application portfolio status, disposition outcomes, and all supporting documentationQualifications10+ years of technology project or program management experience with hands-on waterfall and agile methodology expertiseDemonstrated experience leading large-scale application rationalization or portfolio optimization initiativesDirect experience supporting M&A activity, including application integration, separation, or spinoff scenarios, strongly preferredProven ability to operate in highly complex, time-constrained environments with executive visibility, driving clarity and decisions under ambiguityStrong financial acumen encompassing benefits realization, cost takeout initiatives, and multi-vendor delivery model managementExcellent executive communication, facilitation, and decision-driving skills with the ability to influence through collaborationProficiency with MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office toolsCompensation$80-$90/hr - Dependent on fit and experience
