Receptionist/Medical Billing Specialist

Job Description:This PART TIME hybrid role combines front desk operations of Futures Unlimited with insurance billing and office support for True Path Counseling. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, confident working with insurance, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, caring setting.Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Greet guests and clients warmly and professionallyAnswer multi-line phone system and schedule appointments as neededVerify insurance benefits prior to visits. Verify and obtain prior insurance authorizations when requiredCollect co-pays, provide balances, and coordinate client paymentsEnsure all intake forms are completed accurately before initial visitCommunicate clearly with all staffMaintain a clean, professional front office environmentVerify medical codes are correct for provided servicesPost insurance payments and patient payments in EHRFollow up on denied or unpaid claims with insurance carriers. Correct submission and manage appeals as necessaryAssist with provider credentialing documentation as neededMonitor billing accuracy and identify opportunities to improve collectionsEnsure compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelinesProvide general office support to overall agencyDistribute incoming agency mailMaintain office inventoryProcess donations and send thank you lettersWork Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.Qualifications:Associates degree or medical coding certification preferred. Will consider relevant experience.3-5 years of medical insurance billing experience required. Ability to process a high volume of work.Strong administrative, organizational, and customer service skills.Solid communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to process computer data and format/generate reports.Mathematical knowledge to include basic addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and computing averages.Functional Microsoft Office skills such as PowerPoint, Excel, and WordThis position is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position (20-25 hours), Monday through Friday. 12:30-4:00.
