Tax Analyst (Hybrid - Reno, NV Area) Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 Comprehensive Benefits Location: Hybrid schedule with regular (2 days) inoffice days in Reno, NV Industry: Publicly traded workers' compensation insurance company About the Role Join a high-performing tax department within a reputable, publicly traded insurance company. As a Tax Analyst , you'll play a key role in premium tax, assessment, and income tax compliance—working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where accuracy, collaboration, and initiative truly matter. What You'll Do Tax Compliance & Accounting Prepare periodic premium tax and assessment filings , supported by detailed Excel calculations. Gather and analyze data across various systems and maintain organized workpapers. General Ledger & Provisions Perform complex general ledger entries and reconciliations. Assist with federal, state, and local income tax compliance . Support quarterly and annual GAAP and STAT tax provisions , deferred tax analyses, R2P adjustments, and intercompany settlements. Research & Continuous Improvement Independently research and interpret state tax regulations. What You Bring Experience 2-4 years in public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination. Experience with ASC 740 income tax provisions. Strong Excel skills; familiarity with general ledger software. Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Master's degree in Tax highly desirable. Work Environment Hybrid work schedule with maximum of 2 required on-site days in Reno, NV . Minimal travel to other office or meeting locations. Primarily sedentary with normal office mobility requirements. May occasionally need early, late, or weekend hours based on business needs.
