Salary 180k-200kSAP Functional Architect – Plan-to-Produce (PTP)The SAP Functional Architect – Plan-to-Produce (PTP) is responsible for leading the functional architecture and design of SAP manufacturing planning and execution processes within SAP S/4HANA. This role drives end-to-end production workflows including demand planning, MRP, production execution, capacity planning, and shop floor operations while ensuring scalable, high-performing, and clean-core compliant SAP solutions.The Architect partners closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into standardized SAP PP/PTP solutions that support multi-plant manufacturing operations. This role also ensures strong governance across master data, integrations, testing, deployment, and hypercare activities.Key ResponsibilitiesSAP PTP Architecture & StrategyOwn the SAP Plan-to-Produce (PTP) target-state architecture across all manufacturing plants including MTS, MTO, ETO, and repetitive manufacturing environments.Define and govern SAP PP standards, process variants, production models, and planning frameworks.Enforce Clean Core principles using standard SAP functionality and side-by-side extensions only when necessary.Define reference architectures for:Production OrdersProcess OrdersRepetitive ManufacturingKanbanConfirmations and Backflush processingEstablish non-functional requirements (NFRs) including:MRP runtime performancePosting latencyJob concurrencyLogging and monitoring standardsError handling and operational supportMaster Data GovernanceGovern manufacturing master data including:BOMsRoutingsWork CentersProduction VersionsStandardize planning parameters such as:Lot sizingSafety stockLead timesScheduling marginsPlanning strategiesDefine material master governance rules aligned with PTC, OTC, and RTP processes.Integration & Cross-Functional CollaborationDesign integration architecture across SAP domains including OTC, RTP, PTC, and CPQ.Define integration contracts including:APIsIDocsMapping logicSequencingError handlingCollaborate with Product Owners to prioritize initiatives that improve:ThroughputYieldSchedule adherenceCapacity utilizationSecurity, Compliance & ControlsDefine SAP security and authorization models for planners, schedulers, operators, and supervisors.Ensure segregation of duties (SoD) between master data governance and execution activities.Ensure auditability and traceability for:Order changesConfirmationsYield and scrap transactionsBOM and Routing updatesTesting & Quality AssuranceDefine end-to-end business process testing scenarios including:Demand PlanningMRPGoods IssueConfirmationsGoods ReceiptQM integrationFI/CO postingsSupport SIT, UAT, regression testing, and automation initiatives.Develop test scripts covering:High-volume manufacturingCapacity constraintsMaterial shortagesSubstitutionsPartial production scenariosCutover, Deployment & HypercareLead cutover planning and production readiness activities.Establish mock MRP runs, pilot order validation, and stock adjustment procedures.Define hypercare KPIs and stabilization metrics.Drive root cause analysis and permanent issue resolution.Key DeliverablesArchitecture & DesignEnd-to-end SAP PTP process architectureSAP Target State Design documentationFunctional Blueprint documentsCross-functional integration architectureNon-functional requirements documentationWRICEF & Solution DesignWRICEF inventory and complexity assessmentsFunctional specificationsPrototype configurations and demo validation materialsMaster DataManufacturing master data standardsConversion mapping supportCutover and data load requirementsTesting & DeploymentE2E scenario catalogsSIT/UAT scripts and acceptance criteriaRegression test packsCutover readiness documentationHypercare playbooks and issue triage proceduresRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline10–15 years of SAP PP/PTP experience in SAP S/4HANA environmentsStrong expertise in:MRPProduction PlanningProduction ExecutionCapacity PlanningExperience with:Multi-plant manufacturing operationsCapacity leveling and bottleneck analysisManufacturing master data governanceMTS, MTO, ETO, and repetitive manufacturingStrong understanding of SAP Clean Core principles and SAP BTP extension strategiesExperience reviewing WRICEF objects including custom production reporting and MRP enhancementsExperience supporting UAT, cutover, deployment, and hypercare activitiesExecutive-level communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to mentor functional analysts and support CoE maturity initiativesPreferred QualificationsSAP PP CertificationExperience in manufacturing or distribution industriesExperience with variant configuration and advanced planning toolsExposure to make-to-order and variant-driven production environments
