Vicksburg Warren School DistrictDistrict Career Academy CoachTitle: Career Academy CoachReports to: Director of InnovationApproved: April 26, 2024JOB GOALProvides Support to principal, district, and teachers in implementing High School AcademiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the contact person for business and community engagementAttend industry council meetings and other meetings for networking and partnershipsEducate and promote the National Standards for Practice for Academies (NSOP), including documentation that demonstrates mastery of NSOP for the purpose of achieving "Model Status" in a national site review by NCACServe as the liaison among faculty and leadership in the school in developing and sustaining academiesServe as liaison between schools and the District Office of InnovationIn partnership with the principal and Director of Innovation, implement the Vicksburg Warren College and Career Academies master plan in the high schoolsEnsure the completion of action plan, calendar of events, and budget for academiesCoordinate and implement advisory councils for each academyMaintain community investment data for business and community involvementCommunicate academy information with the media and district Communications office.Engage industries and coordinate job shadowing, student internships, teacher externships, guest speakers, field trips, work-based learning projects, capstone projects, industry visits for teachers and students and other experiential learning experiences.Serve on master scheduling team which develops and updates scheduling of students for proper placement and purity in academiesServe on school leadership team to align Vicksburg Warren College and Career Academies district initiatives with school improvementAttend scheduled academy coach meetingsFacilitate the organization and implementation of of Academy Showcases/Open HousesIdentify new, potential business partnersEnsure students have multiple opportunities to explore college and careers through the VWCCA Continuum of ExperiencesPromote Post Secondary Learning ExperiencesImplement Project Based Learning throughout the school making sure teachers receive formal training and work within their teams to implement at least on cross curricular project per semesterPerforms other duties as assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEValid teaching license. Minimum three (3) years teaching experience.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to respond to inquiries or complaints. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret requests fromothers. Ability to write and respond to work order tickets.OTHER SKILLSAbility to interpret a variety of technical instructions.
