This vision is supported by our core values of Collaboration, Innovation, Diversity and Inclusion, Integrity, and Accountability.Job RequirementsEducation:High School Diploma requiredGraduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferredExperience:Medical Assistant experience preferredFront desk or patient registration experience preferredBLS certification required at time of hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)Certification / Equivalent ExperienceCandidates with less than one year of Medical Assistant experience must hold one of the following certifications:CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)CMA Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)RMA Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)NCMA National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)NRCMA Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAHP)In lieu of a Medical Assistant certification, we will also accept:1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a hospital or urgent care setting1+ years of phlebotomy experienceGraduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN)EMT Emergency Medical TechnicianParamedicCNA Certified Nursing Assistant***Candidates without an MA certification must obtain one within 15 months of hire***CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of start date.Essential ResponsibilitiesRegister patients and verify insurance and documentationSchedule appointments and process co-paysPrepare patients for examination and record medical historyPerform vital signs and preliminary patient assessmentsConduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)Assist providers with patient care and proceduresMaintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical recordsAnswer patient questions and coordinate referralsPerform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checksSupport a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environmentAll other duties as assigned.Note: This job description is not inclusive of all the duties of the position.
