Caregiver PositionThe Caregiver role is a crucial position for those who rely on others for basic daily care, such as bathing, eating, and personal hygiene. Caregivers typically work with elderly or disabled individuals in a home care setting. We are looking to hire fill-in caregivers who are not interested in regular shifts, but only want to work as needed. We truly believe that happy, fulfilled caregivers provide better, more comprehensive care. ameriCARE of Greater Richmond is a family-owned agency that still cares about each employee.Caregiver Compensation and Benefits:Compensation: $16 - $20/hourFlexible Working HoursPaid TrainingPTOEmployee AwardsCaregiver Responsibilities:Help clients take prescribed medicationAssist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks etc.)Assist clients with personal care and hygieneHelp clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercisesDo the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop if neededPerform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own, including preparing mealsCollect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family membersReport any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family membersAct quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencyCaregiver Requirements:Previous caregiver experience preferred but not requiredCurrent CPR (American Heart Association) CertificationWillingness to adhere to health and safety standardsKnowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraintsMust be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside mannerOutstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skillsPhysical endurance to complete required tasksHigh school diploma or equivalentWe believe in care that serves and supports the whole human person as well as their immediate community.
