Location(s): New York, NY or Orlando, FL or Barcelona, Spain, or London, UKSummary: We are a rapidly growing, newly established insurance platform comprised of Managing General Agents (MGAs) operating across the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe, with approximately 700 employees globally.We are seeking a highly experienced AVP, Accounting Operations to lead and scale our accounting operations function. This role will be responsible for overseeing global accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions, and building a best-in-class accounting infrastructure to support continued growth.This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep expertise in accounting for multinational operations, and financial reporting, as well as a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Responsibilities: Leadership & Team ManagementLead and develop a global accounting operations team across multiple geographies, fostering a high-performance, accountable cultureOversee hiring, training, performance management, and organizational design of the accounting operations functionPartner closely with senior leadership, including MGA leaders and functional heads, to support business growth and operational decision-makingAccounting Operations & CloseOwn the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the MGA businesses ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and consistencyOversee journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis for the MGA businessesEstablish and maintain scalable accounting operations policies, procedures, and workflows across jurisdictionsFinancial Reporting & AuditLead coordination of statutory audits across multiple entities and jurisdictionsAssist corporate function leaders and external auditors with the global consolidated auditServe as liaison with external auditors, ensuring efficient and high-quality audit executionOversee preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, UK GAAP, and applicable local standardsOversee the Company’s financial regulatory reportingControls & ComplianceDesign, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment, and other regulatory requirementsEnsure compliance with global accounting policies, regulatory standards, and company governance frameworksBusiness Partnership & FP&A AlignmentAct as a strategic finance partner to MGA leadership and corporate functionsSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in coordination with FP&AProvide actionable insights based on financial results and operational trendsProcess Improvement & TransformationIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance scalability, efficiency, and accuracySupport systems optimization and automation initiatives, including ERP and reporting toolsDrive standardization while accommodating local requirementsQualifications: RequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree preferredActive CPA, CA, or equivalent professional designation10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, including leadership rolesSignificant experience in the insurance industry, preferably within MGAs or brokerage environmentsStrong knowledge of US GAAP and UK GAAP; experience with multi-GAAP environmentsProven experience managing global teams across multiple time zonesStrong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and external auditorsPreferredFamiliarity with IFRS and European statutory reporting requirementsExperience with internal controls frameworks Experience with ERP systems such as OracleAdvanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting toolsExperience in a high-growth or private equity-backed environmentThis job description is designed to provide a general overview of the requirements of the job and does not entail a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that will be required in this position.
