Job Title: Physician Assistant ? Open Heart / Cardiac Surgery Position Type: Part-Time (8:00AM -4:30PM) Shift: Varies Location: Boca Raton, FL Salary Range: $149,730.30 ? $194,649.39 (commensurate with experience)Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Surgical Physician Assistant with Open Heart/Cardiac Surgery experience to join our specialized cardiovascular surgical team. This part-time role offers a varied schedule and requires a dynamic clinician who excels in high-acuity, team-based environments. The PA will collaborate directly with cardiac surgeons in both the operating room and clinical settings, ensuring continuity of care from preoperative assessments to postoperative recovery.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive cardiac surgical history and physical examinationsOrder, interpret, and act on diagnostic and laboratory testsFormulate and implement patient-centered care plans in collaboration with cardiac surgeonsPrescribe medications, including controlled substances, within the scope of privilegesFirst-assist in open heart and cardiac surgical proceduresPerform vein harvesting and other operative techniques as requiredDeliver care in the pre-, intra-, and post-operative settingsManage inpatient rounding, consults, wound care, and bedside proceduresRun outpatient cardiac surgery clinics and assist with minor proceduresEducate patients and families throughout the cardiac surgical continuumParticipate in grand rounds, quality initiatives, and on-call coverage as needed (weekdays, nights, and weekends)Qualifications:Master?s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant programMinimum 5 years of APP experience, including open heart/cardiac surgery and vein harvestingCurrent and valid PA license with ability to obtain medical staff privilegesNational PA Certification (NCCPA)DEA License required as per specialtyAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification requiredCompliant with state CEU/CME and licensure renewal requirementsStrong clinical, procedural, and communication skillsDemonstrates proper surgical and sterile techniques in the ORWhy Join Us: This is an excellent opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a high-performing cardiac surgery team.
