Position SummaryThe successful Events Director is responsible for directing the vision and oversight for all development-related events and some field-related events. The Events Director will interact with a diverse group of external callers, donors and visitors, as well as, internal contacts within all levels of the organization. This role will provide leadership and management to the Event Team. The Event Director will successfully partner with vendors to execute high level donor cultivation events. To be successful, this employee must meet the objectives set out by the Development Department and carry out the required functions in an honest, competent, and confident manner. Flexibility, focus, forward-thinking, organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to constantly re-prioritize are crucial to the success of this position. This position is responsible for playing their part to achieve the bigger mission of East-West and for ensuring that all position duties and responsibilities are clearly aligned with East-West Ministries Vision, Mission, Values, Statement of Faith, and Biblical principles.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Event coordinationAs directed, conduct research for future events where stories of faith, scripture, and evangelism can be sharedPrepare agendas and other materials for event related meetingsManage logistics for all local and major development events, including venues, vendors, catering, insurance, travel arrangements, booking guest speakersManage RSVP and check-in processTrack event financials to ensure standards of good stewardship are being followedManage event timelinesWork in collaboration with the EVP of DevelopmentAdministrative duties to include expense reports for gift officers, donor correspondence, and other gift officer support as assignedManage Event Applications (Blackthorn & SendGrid)Special Projects Management � miscellaneous project management as directly assignedOrganize volunteer(s) to assist with various Development/Marketing projectsAssist with field-related events as requestedMaintain communication with volunteers to make aware of existing needsSkills And AbilitiesFlexibility, focus, and a strong work ethic are essentialExcellent organizational and time management skills, including proficiency in evaluating and prioritizing issuesAbility to follow through and juggle multiple tasks and projectsAbility to take initiative and be proactive within scope of job dutiesSolid judgment and decision-making skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in grammar and spellingExcellent interpersonal skills, ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality, poise, and tactDiscerning of confidentiality and privacyAbility to work well with others in a team environmentAbility to work well under pressure and against deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office and Outlook and other standard office softwareStrong attention to detailDriven to constantly improve job functions � not satisfied with status quoAbility to think critically and resourcefullyAbility to manage teams of volunteers in various projectsAbility to compile and prepare various budgets and reports
