Assistant Store Director
ASSISTANT STORE DIRECTOR
Reports to: Store Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
As an Assistant Store Director, you will support overall store operations and drive success in sales, customer service, and team management. This role works closely with the Store Director to oversee staff, optimize inventory, ensure compliance with company policies, and create an exceptional shopping experience. You will assist in financial planning, performance tracking, and employee development while leading by example. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Store Director with all aspects of daily operations including sales, customer service, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and loss prevention; and provide store leadership in the Store Director’s absence.
Demonstrate Moser’s Foods guiding principles and core values driving a culture of employee-ownership, accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement
Assist in managing and training staff to ensure efficient and effective operations
Oversee inventory levels, stock ordering and product displays to meet customer demand
Assist with cash handling such as register operations, lottery machine operations and reconciliation
Resolve customer issues and ensure a high level of service and satisfaction
Assist with monitoring sales performance, store budgets and operational efficiency
Monitor and enforce adherence to compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, company policies, health and safety regulations, and food safety standards
Ensure the store is clean, secure, organized, and visually appealing to customers
Assist with workforce scheduling, employee-owner performance, and employee relations to promote a productive work environment
Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field preferred
3-5 years of progressive experience in grocery or retail management preferred
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Basic knowledge of financial operations
Proficiency with inventory control, ordering and merchandising
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable using technology for reporting, scheduling, inventory tracking and general communication
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically performed in normal grocery store conditions with exposure to varying temperatures including refrigerated and freezer sections, produce misting, and outdoor conditions
Some work may be performed outside the store to maintain the store exterior and parking lots and collect shopping carts, including occasional work in inclement weather
Fast-paced environment
Must be available to work a flexible schedule including a variety of shifts, days, evenings, nights, and weekends including overtime, as needed

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Ability to operate store equipment, including registers, pallet jacks, and stocking tools
Strong visual acuity to assess store conditions, merchandise displays, and operational efficiency
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach
Must have visual and hearing acuity
Consistently perform repetitive tasks
Ability to speak to, hear, and understand others via phone and in person in English
