Headquartered in the stunning city of Bend, Oregon, we offer a vibrant work environment surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities.We're seeking talented and creative individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the aerospaceindustry.What You'll DoThe Certification Engineer supports certification activities for Epic's Part 23 Utility Category aircraft and works with engineering teams to ensure compliance with applicable airworthiness regulations.Responsibilities may include developing certification strategies, preparing compliance documentation, coordinating regulatory submittals, and evaluating design changes in accordance with 14 CFR Parts 21 and 23. The role may also support certification-related service documentation and post-delivery changes associated with in-service aircraft.Depending on experience level, the Certification Engineer may also participate in regulatory interface activities with the FAA and other civil aviation authorities tosupport the determination of appropriate certification paths, including change classification and definition of acceptable means of compliance.Support the development of project-specificcertification plans, compliance checklists, and statements of complianceEvaluate design changes in accordance with 14 CFR Part 21 and assist in determining appropriate certification pathsPrepare regulatory submittals and coordinate documentation packages for FAA and other civil aviation authority reviewReview engineering reports, drawings, test plans, analyses, and substantiation data to ensure compliance findings are technically sound and well-documentedResearch applicable regulations, Advisory Circulars, and policy guidance to support certification strategies and means of complianceParticipate in technical discussions with engineering teams and regulatory authorities to support certification activitiesSupport foreign validation activities, including the coordination of responses and tracking of authority questionsIdentify potential certification risks and escalate issues as appropriateContribute to the continuous improvement of certification processes, internal procedures, and change classification consistencyTravel as required to support certification and validation activitiesWhat You Bring To The TeamBachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, or related engineering disciplineExperience in aerospace engineering, certification, regulatory compliance, or related disciplinesFamiliarity with 14 CFR Part 23 airworthiness standards and interest in aircraft certification processesStrong technical writing skills and the ability to clearly document engineering findingsAbility to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teamsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsHIGHLY DESIRABLEExperience with aircraft certification programsFamiliarity with 14 CFR Part 21 certification procedures and Part 23 airworthiness standardsExperience supporting amended type certification or supplemental type certification projectsFamiliarity with FAA issue papers, special conditions, or equivalent level of safety findingsExperience supporting composite structure complianceExperience working with international aviation authoritiesFamiliarity with aircraft service documentation, such as service bulletins, maintenance manuals, or instructions for continued airworthinessSmall aircraft DER experienceWhat's In It For YouCompetitive wages depending on experienceOn-the-job training and advancement opportunitiesAccess to the Epic Aircraft Flying ClubCompany provided paid time off accrued each year7 paid holidays per yearPaidholiday timeoff between Christmas Day and New Year's DayDiscretionary year-end bonus100% paid Health, Vision, and Dental benefits for employees & 50% for dependents401k retirement plan with a 3% matching programPay increases based on performanceFriendly team environment and fun company eventsThis position is located at Epic Headquarters in Bend, OregonNote: Relocation assistance is not provided for this positionEpic Aircraft does notaccept3rd party agency staffing/hiring solicitation requests
