The ideal candidate has worked in large engineering organizations with multiple backend teams contributing to a distributed architecture. This individual must demonstrate proficiency in modern development practices including A/B testing, feature flagging, distributed systems design, and data-driven decision making.This role requires someone who can work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams (PMs, SREs, data scientists, and engineers), and think strategically about system architecture and scalability. Experience with high-scale consumer applications (10M+ DAU) is strongly preferred.Required Skills & Qualifications8+ years of professional backend software development experience post-internshipExpertise in Python and GoProven experience designing and scaling distributed backend systems and microservices architecturesStrong knowledge of consistency models, fault tolerance, and horizontal scalingExperience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and maintainable API designProficiency with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), caching systems (Redis, Memcached), and databases (Postgres, SQL, NoSQL)Familiarity with software engineering best practices: unit/integration/e2e testing, CI/CD, A/B testing, design documentation, and code reviewsStrong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasksExcellent communication skills in fully remote, cross-functional environmentsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experiencePreferred Skills & QualificationsExperience in large-scale consumer platforms with 10M+ daily active usersPrior experience in media-heavy, high-throughput systemsExperience mentoring and contributing to engineering best practicesAbility to thrive in ambiguity, innovate, and learn continuouslyDay-to-Day ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to execute product and business strategiesContribute to the full development lifecycle: design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launchReview code, design docs, and provide feedback on product specsBuild and maintain APIs, middleware, and testing frameworks (RSpec) to support data flow and integrationsTroubleshoot, debug, and optimize high-throughput applicationsEnsure compliance with security and data privacy standardsDesign maintainable database schemas and scalable data structuresParticipate in architecture reviews and technical discussionsEngage in planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and agile ceremoniesProactively identify technical bottlenecks and propose solutionsCompany Benefits & CultureOpportunity to work on massive-scale, consumer-facing applicationsWork with highly skilled engineers in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentFully remote work with CST/PST time zone alignmentExposure to cutting-edge distributed systems and large-scale backend architecture#TECH #REMOTE # #J-18808-Ljbffr
