Job Description Job OverviewBecome a part of our team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Martinez, CA, as a Physician - Ophthalmologist!We are seeking Comprehensive Ophthalmologists, Glaucoma Specialists, or Medical Retina Specialists for a Full-time position within the Northern California VA Eye Section. We are looking for candidates with various skill sets for three locations: Martinez VA, Sacramento VA Outpatient Hospital, and Stockton VA. The role may involve working at two sites or full-time at Stockton VA. Exceptional skills in anterior segment and cataract surgery are essential for Comprehensive Ophthalmology, with experience in MIGS preferred. For the Glaucoma Specialist role, fellowship training in glaucoma is mandatory, as there is currently only one Glaucoma MD in Northern California VA. Both Martinez and Sacramento VA Hospitals feature state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Units (ASUs), while surgeries at Stockton VA are conducted at a contracted private Ambulatory Surgery Center in Tracy, CA. This position offers a high surgical volume, serving as both an attending physician and a resident supervisor at Martinez and Sacramento (note that there are no residents at Stockton VA). All locations provide dedicated technician and nursing support, along with on-site YAG, Argon, and SLT lasers, IOL Master Biometry, Visual Field testing, fundus imaging, optometry services, and an optical shop.Benefits and FeaturesSalary Range: Expected between $300K and $335K (negotiable based on qualifications, credentials, and experience).* Recruitment/Relocation Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Available.* Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Available.* Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturday clinics or extended weekday hours, subject to service needs.* Compensation: Competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increases.* Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid leave annually (including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for CME).* Retirement Benefits: Traditional federal pension (5-year vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% contributions from the organization.* Insurance Coverage: Federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many federal programs can be continued into retirement).* Licensure: Must hold one full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.* CME Reimbursement: Up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time and board-certified).* Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection with tail coverage included.* Contractual Terms: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.We invite you to explore the opportunity of working with us in Martinez, CA.
