This role sits at the intersection of product design and motion design, blending strategic thinking with high quality interaction and animation work. You will help shape product strategy, design end to end user experiences, and bring them to life through purposeful motion that enhances clarity, usability, and delight.This position is ideal for someone who thinks holistically about product experiences while also obsessing over the details that make interactions feel intuitive, fluid, and expressive.Pay: $60/hr - $65/hrRole DetailsWork Arrangement: Remote with up to 20% travel to Alameda, CARequired Years of Experience: 5+Education Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Design, Interaction Design, Motion Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related fieldEquivalent professional experience may be consideredWhat You'll DoMotion & Interaction DesignDesign motion systems and interaction patterns that enhance usability and guide user behaviorCreate micro interactions, transitions, and animated states that communicate purpose and feedbackDevelop motion prototypes to help teams visualize, explore, and refine product behaviorCollaborate with engineering to implement motion accurately, efficiently, and accessiblyEstablish scalable motion principles and guidelines across the product ecosystemProduce demos and storytelling artifacts that convey product vision and design intentProduct DesignLead and contribute to product strategy and experience design across key initiativesDesign end to end user journeys-from discovery and concept through launch and iterationTranslate product insights and user needs into clear, meaningful design solutionsCreate wireframes, interaction models, prototypes, and high fidelity designsPartner closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers throughout the design lifecycleContribute to and evolve design systems, including motion and interaction standardsDaily Responsibilities / Key TasksLead product design and motion design efforts across major featuresCollaborate cross functionally across product, engineering, and researchBuild and refine interactive prototypes for complex workflowsPartner with engineering to ensure motion behaviors are implemented with fidelityProduce demos, prototypes, and visual artifacts that communicate product storytellingDefine and scale motion patterns, guidelines, and interaction principlesDesign micro interactions, feedback states, and system level motion behaviorsMaintain consistency across design and motion within the design systemEssential Hard RequirementsAdvanced proficiency in design, motion, and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, After Effects, or similar)Demonstrated ability to design end to end product experiences, not just visual UI or marketing animationsStrong understanding of interaction design, animation principles, and usability best practicesExperience collaborating with engineering and product teams to ship motion rich product experiencesExperience contributing to scalable design systemsPreferred QualificationsHybrid product + motion designer with experience applied to complex digital productsDemonstrated ability to blend product strategy with detailed interaction craftsmanshipExperience designing for systems that scale across multiple products or platformsAdditional DetailsThis is a remote role supporting the Diabetes Care Division, which is focused on delivering life changing products that empower people with diabetes to make better informed health decisions.
