Job Description
Step into a day on our rapid-response teamPMG/FlexTrades is assembling a small, elite crew of Solder Technicians and Assemblers to support a potential labor dispute. This is a temporary assignment on the NE Coast where precision work under a microscope keeps aerospace hardware moving.A variety of soft skills and experience may be required for the following role Please ensure you check the overview below carefully.
Where and how you’ll workAssignment type:Temporary, NE Coast
Environment:Cleanroom; all work performed under microscopes
Travel support:Airfare, hotel, group transportation, and $50/day per diem provided
Your day as a Solder TechnicianGown up, calibrate your scope, and settle into meticulous hand-soldering on boards as small as a nickel—sometimes a quarter. You’ll execute connections like wire-to-wire, wire-to-terminal, and thru-hole to mini-CPAs while meeting drawings that call out IPC-610 and J-STD soldering quality. Everything you do is to J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
Perform all Production Technician tasks plus advanced hand-soldering
Apply J-STD-001 and IPC-610 quality expectations (IPC-610 is not required for this role; it applies to inspection work the PMG team will not perform)
Receive OJT soldering training for specific applications
Work under a microscope for the full shift with steady hands and repeatable technique
If your J-STD-001 is expired (within the last 2 years), complete onsite recertification—written and hands-on dexterity tests—with fast-track options that may take as little as one day or even one hour
Your day as an AssemblerUsing a microscope in a cleanroom, you’ll assemble very small components with care and consistency, leveraging recent hands-on experience.
Assemble miniature aerospace components under a microscope
Rely on recent (within the last 5 years) micro-assembly experience
CompensationSolder Technician:$34/hr — J-STD-001 certification active or expired within the last 2 years
Assembler:$32/hr — recent micro-assembly experience within the last 5 years
Per diem:$50/day in addition to hourly pay
What it takes to thriveComfort working all day under microscopes in a cleanroom
Steady manual dexterity for tiny components and tight tolerances
Familiarity with J-STD-001 and IPC-610 workmanship expectations
