Hours to be confirmed during the interview process.Overtime may be required as business demandsPosition SummaryThe Quality Lab Technician supports quality testing, inspection, and process verification activities within the laboratory and production environment. This role performs visual inspections, product testing, dock audits, and documentation to ensure all products meet customer specifications and company quality standards. The position also provides timely feedback to production teams to support continuous quality improvement.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesConduct visual inspections of outgoing product using approved inspection criteriaPerform laboratory testing and record accurate results in the lab databaseInspect products for visual attributes and defectsMonitor lab equipment, inspection fixtures, retention samples, and testing materialsSupport sample processing, gauging, and trial-run documentation when requiredMaintain organized testing records, retention logs, and daily activity documentationFollow all quality procedures, work instructions, and document control requirementsPerform outgoing dock audits to verify labels, packaging, counts, and part identification against customer requirementsAssist with Layered Process Audits (LPAs), including checks on operators, equipment, work instructions, gauges, racks, and process parametersCommunicate findings and quality concerns to the quality and production teamsPerform additional duties as assignedRequired Competencies, Skills & ExperienceAbility to read, understand, and follow written and verbal inspection instructionsBasic math skills for measurement and documentationStrong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeepingAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication skills and the ability to report findings clearlyPreferred QualificationsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsFamiliarity with plated plastics, automotive components, or similar manufactured productsExperience performing inspections or quality audits in a manufacturing environmentEducation & Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredWork Environment & Physical DemandsWork in both laboratory and manufacturing environmentsStand, walk, or sit depending on the task being performedRepetitive use of hands for inspection and testing activitiesLift or move materials weighing up to 50 poundsStoop, kneel, climb stairs, and reach as requiredPotential exposure to varying temperatures within the manufacturing environmentEqual Opportunity EmployerMPC Plating is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
