Proposal Development Specialist

This position supports a nationally recognized organization operating at scale, where proposal development is key to securing new business across diverse product and service offerings. The Proposal Development Specialist will be responsible for developing persuasive, compliant, and high-quality responses to customer solicitations while collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders to translate complex technical and commercial inputs into clear, customer-focused messaging. This role is ideal for a professional writer who thrives in structured, deadline-driven environments and enjoys shaping strategic narratives that directly drive revenue.Responsibilities:Review, analyze, and summarize solicitation documents, including RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and ITBs.Lead kickoff discussions with cross-functional stakeholders to define response strategy and requirements.Develop and manage customized proposal content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with customer priorities.Compile and integrate inputs from Sales, Technical, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams.Build, maintain, and enhance proposal templates and modular content libraries for reuse and efficiency.Edit, proofread, and perform quality assurance checks to ensure consistency, compliance, and error-free deliverables.Produce presentations and supporting materials for customer-facing engagements and proposal submissions.Conduct research and fact-checking to ensure alignment with approved messaging and public-facing information.Support proposal management workflows, including intake tracking, approvals, deadlines, and submission coordination.Ensure compliance with solicitation instructions, branding standards, and governance protocols.Utilize proposal management software platforms to organize, develop, and streamline response development.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.Minimum of 4 years of professional writing or proposal development experience.Experience developing responses to RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and other formal solicitations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.Experience with proposal management tools such as Loopio, Qvidian, or Responsive.Ability to interpret technical, commercial, and operational information and translate it into persuasive written content.Familiarity with structured content libraries, templates, and modular writing frameworks.Experience working with AI-assisted writing tools with strong editorial judgment for refinement and validation.Understanding of APMP best practices; APMP Foundation Certification preferred or ability to obtain.Strong project coordination skills with experience managing multiple concurrent deadlines in a structured environment.
