Nuclear Medicine Technician The Nuclear Medicine Technologist functions as a Scientific Technologist with advanced knowledge in Nuclear Medicine techniques. They are required to enhance the department by providing optimal exams and procedures. The role involves working closely with the Nuclear Medicine Physician. Duties include performing a full spectrum of diagnostic imaging and analyzing biological specimens. Technologists assist with therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients. They will use imaging devices to record the distribution of radiopharmaceuticals within a patient's body. Responsibilities also include ensuring patient safety protocols are followed. Technologists must maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements. Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement activities is expected. A minimum of 2 years of post-program graduate experience is required to qualify for this position.
