Senior Staff Accountant - Manufacturing

Full time, onsite Senior Accountant Location: St. Charles, IL Company: Client Employment Type: [Full-Time / Hybrid / Onsite] Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate financial records to support the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and overall financial integrity. This role plays a key part in monthly close, reconciliations, intercompany accounting, audit support, and inventory processes across the Client and its subsidiaries. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing accounting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, paperless environment. Key Responsibilities •Perform general accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close. •Prepare monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports. •Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances. •Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries. •Record intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany balances. •Perform daily bank reconciliations and cash activity monitoring. •Review accounts receivable aging and support collections activity as needed. •Support external auditors by gathering required documentation for quarterly and annual audits. •Participate in quarterly physical inventory counts and production reconciliation. •Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies. •Cross-train with Accounts Payable to provide backup coverage. •Identify process improvements and support special projects as assigned. Qualifications •Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. •Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. •Strong working knowledge of cost accounting principles. •Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial controls. •Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations). •Experience working in a paperless accounting environment preferred. •ERP experience required; Sage 100 experience strongly preferred. •Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. •Strong written and verbal communication skills. •Ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
