Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. Training available. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal climate control, energy efficiency, and safety standards are met while providing exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend system lifespan. Troubleshoot mechanical problems using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments; perform electrical testing and repairs as needed. Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and refrigerant line repairs. Weld components or parts when necessary to ensure secure connections or repairs; utilize welding equipment safely and effectively. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all work performed; communicate clearly with clients regarding system status and recommended solutions. Assist in property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems; support appliance repair when required. Operate a driver vehicle safely for transportation between job sites; adhere to all safety protocols during field service operations. Handle specialized tasks involving ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R systems that utilize alternative refrigerants; ensure compliance with safety standards. Experience Not Required, Training Available. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design principles. Experience working with refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration if applicable. Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately; skilled in troubleshooting electrical components using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Knowledge of plumbing practices related to HVAC systems; experience with appliance repair is a plus. Mechanical or welding experience preferred for component fabrication or repair tasks. Field service experience demonstrating the ability to work independently in diverse environments while maintaining high safety standards.
