Attitude is the difference between failure and success!Job DescriptionWe are seeking a proven Operations Manager who is passionate about customer service and last mile delivery. Our Operations Manager must have a proficient background in the last mile field, with the abilities to oversee all delivery activity for a fast-growing company. The Manager will work closely with the senior leadership team and report directly to the CEO. We are an energetic company looking for a passionate individual to join our team.ResponsibilitiesOversee accurate and efficient loading of all vehicles for the delivery of retail home products to the end customer (last mile)Ensure service providers are protecting all merchandiseEnsure service providers are securing all merchandise when loadingStrictly enforce uniform and on-time expectationsDocument damages, missing items or discrepancies which take place at load outCreate processes for the following: Cargo claims; Property claims; Service RequestsEnsure carrier, driver and helper compliance records are in accordance with company policiesEstablish morning, mid-day and evening recap templatesMeasuring driver completionAssume daily routing responsibility while sending confirmation callsMonitor and relay on-time percentages, damage percentages and completion percentages all throughout the work day.Ensure high levels of service, completion and on-time deliveriesCommunicate daily and weekly performanceMonitor weekly reports to ensure financial goals are being metCoordinate with customer service to ensure that all customers are satisfiedConduct ride behind evaluation of contractors to determine skill levels and development opportunitiesEnsure all service providers are operating in compliance with DOT and OSHA requirementsEnsures all claims are charged back to the appropriate contract carrierTrain and oversee local staff membersRequirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience in the Last Mile, independent carrier business model Experience with Microsoft Office and proficient in Excel Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends Lean, Six Sigma and Constant Process Improvement knowledge and experience Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Solid understanding maintaining a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills Entails standing, sitting or walking for lengthy periods of time Ability to work and perform in office and warehouse environmentsJob Type: Full-timeShift8 hour shiftApplication Question(s)Are you available to work on Saturdays?When are you available to start?ExperienceWhite-Glove Delivery: 5 years ()Work Location: One location
