Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.Job Title: Claims Processor IIFLSA Status: Non-ExemptDepartment: Insurance Services & PlacementReports to: Insurance Services & Placement ManagerLocation: Proctor – 166-50Job SummaryThe Claims Processor is responsible for claims processing of new and existing claims and all correspondence related to claims, maintaining a high standard of work, assisting other team members to complete daily, weekly, and/or monthly goals, & acting as a resource to others about claims and general insurance questions.Complete timely review and entry of new losses.Determine if coverage is in place and send documentation to insurance carriers.Follow up with carriers to ensure proper documentation of acknowledgements, determinations and final settlements.Review all determinations and discuss with carrier adjustors or TPAsMaintain SOPs for all claims processes.Applies understanding of insurance policies and policy interpretation in order to assist clients and carriers with claim settlement.Assist Account Service Managers, Producers, and Clients with claims questions or issues.Research complex claim questions and/or situations to ensure a favorable outcome or correct/updated information can be provided.Escalate complex claim questions to VP or Manager of Insurance Services and Placement.Complete claims reporting to Account Service Managers, Producers, Clients and Proctor Loan Protector Leadership.Assist with the daily workflow coordination and carrier download(s).Act as a first contact resource for all members of the team.Complete project work as assigned by other team members & managers.Assist with complex problem solving within the team and with other departments.Actively participate in the training of new employees & retraining of current employees.Education And/or ExperienceMinimum 5-7 Years Insurance Industry Experience; Claim Experience Preferred (Agency processing a plus).High School diploma required. Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.Knowledge, Skills And CompetenciesStrong written and oral communication skillsExperience with Insurance Agency Management System (Applied or AMS).Experience with Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent time management skills.Detail orientedTechnical learning with strong desire to learn and acquire new skills.Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities to meet deadlines.This job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive statement of the duties of the position listed above.
