The Staff Accountant will serve as a key member of a small finance and accounting team and responsible for ensuring proper processes and controls, assisting in monthly closes, handling expense management, with some AP work. The candidate should be a self-starter, energetic, have an excellent work ethic, and be able to operate independently and with limited direction. They should also have a sense of humor (we all genuinely enjoy working together and like to have a good time while we work) and great interpersonal and communication skills. The Company’s headquarters in Warwick, RI serves as a home base for the accounting and administration team members, while the operations team are usually in the dental practices. Duties and Responsibilities · Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the General Ledger · Ensure accurate and timely posting of journal entries · Bank reconciliations and some treasury management · Support month-end and year-end processes, annual financial audit, tax return preparation, and regulatory audits · Post expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports · Monitor and reconcile prepaid accounts including posting amortizations · Balance Sheet reconciliations · Pay Sales Tax and upkeep appropriate reporting · Review invoices and asses the various payment activities and methods · Make payments to vendors and record in the GL · Cross train with other team members to provide bench strength and ad hoc support · Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field · Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting o AP experience a plus · Proficiency in accounting and/or AP software o QuickBooks experience a plus · Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to utilize database tools like pivot tables and lookup formulas · Healthcare industry experience a plus · Willingness to embrace technology to solve problems/increase efficiency · Strong organizational, project management, communication, and social skills · Person must possess ambition, confidence, humility, empathy, and be a team player Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Vision insurance Experience: Accounting: 1 year (Preferred) AP: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Warwick, RI 02886 (Required) Work Location: In person
