Network Engineer
Overview
In this contract role you will support and enhance the lab environment for distributed network setups, collaborating with the team on design, testing, and verification. You will work with Cisco or Juniper equipment and a range of networking concepts to enable secure, reliable lab operations. The role focuses on integrating networks, performing design reviews, and driving installation of network points of presence. You will contribute to lab-driven validation activities within a project-focused IT program and adhere to security and industry standards.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and maintain a distributed network lab in collaboration with the teamWork with Cisco or Juniper routers/switches and related networking protocolsSupport design reviews, system integration activities, and DVT testsLead fabrication, testing/integration and installation of Network Points of PresenceImplement security lockdowns in line with STIGs and security conceptsApply military/industrial drawing standards to equipment fabrication and installation
Key requirementsExperience with Cisco or Juniper networksStrong knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNSVoIP, wireless LAN/WAN, Multicast, QoS, STP, VTP, VLANsSecurity concepts including IPSec and Suite BRouting protocols OSPF, EIGRP, BGPGateway redundancy protocols HSRP, VRRP, GLRPExperience with STIGs and lab security requirementsCapability to lead design reviews and network integration activitiesSelf-starter with ability to troubleshoot and innovate under guidanceself-motivatedcreative problem solvingteam collaborationCisco or Juniper networkingTCP/IP, DHCP, DNSVoIP, WLAN/WAN
