This role focuses on driving business development efforts within public and private markets, positioning the firm for sustained regional growth.In this role, you will identify and evaluate emerging market opportunities, cultivate relationships with key public and private sector stakeholders, and lead initiatives that strengthen our presence with target clients. You will play a critical role in shaping win strategies, guiding proposal development, and delivering compelling client presentations that differentiate our firm.Success in this position requires a strong understanding of regional market dynamics, the ability to translate intelligence into actionable growth strategies, and a proven track record of building lasting client partnerships and government relations experience.Position ResponsibilitiesFacilitates the effort for proposal development and presentation materials and selection interviews.Continuously cultivates and maintains positive relationships with sources for lead generationActively participates in target client industry trade associations and strategic community and industry activities for lead generation and visibility of the company.Assists with the pricing of the fee proposal, contract negotiation and documentation.Coordinates the Business Development activities; sets priorities and measures progress against plan.Researches and understand the capabilities and performance of the competitors and possible teammates.Understands and monitors current and anticipated market conditions.Possesses a strong customer focus with ability to quickly evaluate customer needs and Company’s ability to successfully and profitably meet those needs.Assists with developing a sales strategy; develops specific and measurable sales goals; identifies target clients.Identifies market trends and opportunities and communicates them or review and consideration.Recommends company sponsored events, conferences or client/prospect functions.Annually reviews marketing material, proposal and presentation material for relevance, effectiveness and best practices as compared to others in the AEC industry. Develop and implement comprehensive government relations strategies and plansMonitor and analyze legislative and regulatory activities that affect the organizationAdvocate for the organization's positions on various issuesEngage and build relationships with government officials, policymakers, and key stakeholdersCoordinate with internal departments to align government relations strategies with organizational goalsOrganize and participate in meetings and events with government representativesDevelop and manage relationships with industry coalitions, trade associations, and advocacy groupsSkills/Education/ExperienceBachelor’s DegreeMust have minimum 10 years of experience in AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) Business Development experience required.Extensive experience in government relations, public policy, or advocacyStrong network of contacts within the government and industryExceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and strategic thinking abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExperience in a relevant industry or sector In-depth understanding of the legislative and regulatory processProven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and policymakersStrong strategic planning and project management skillsExcellent public speaking and presentation abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to travel as needed for meetings and eventsEstimated Compensation Range And Benefits$175,000 - $225,000/year*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.Learn About Our Comprehensive BenefitsWHO WE ARE: C&S Companies is a national planning, design, and construction firm with more than 600 employees and growing.
