About the role Project Engineer Key responsibilities Project Management Plan, design, and execute capital and operational projects from concept through commissioning. Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans. Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery. Regulatory Compliance Ensure all projects meet MDA and USDA requirements, including sanitary design, food safety, and inspection readiness. Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to integrate compliance into engineering solutions. Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions. Engineering & Technical Support Design and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Support installation, validation, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems. Apply sanitary design principles to all facility and equipment modifications. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety teams to align engineering projects with plant needs. Provide technical training and guidance to plant personnel on new systems and equipment. Safety & Sustainability Incorporate OSHA and environmental standards into project execution. Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within plant operations. Qualifications and skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial preferred) or related. 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing or other regulated industries. Knowledge of MDA and USDA food plant regulations, sanitary design principles, and HACCP standards. Strong project management skills with proven experience in budgeting and scheduling. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Proficiency with CAD software, project management tools, and MS Office Suite. The typical hiring range for this role is $63,000 to $116,900 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
