Sales Support Engineer

Job Title: Sales Support EngineerLocation: RemoteLength: 6-10 monthsRequired Skills & Experience:Strong experience in IBM z/OS environments and IMS DB/DC workloads.Proven track record in legacy modernization projects (API enablement, re-platforming, refactoring, or hybrid cloud).Proficiency in JCL, TSO/ISPF, REXX, and mainframe utilities.Client-facing consulting experience: ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment.Key Responsibilities:Client Engagement & AdvisoryAssist in the sales process for airline and hospitality clients to assess legacy z/OS and IMS landscapes and identify modernization opportunities.Define transformation roadmaps that align with operational goals (efficiency, scalability, cost optimization).Provide consulting expertise on crew scheduling, crew management, and payroll systems, ensuring modernization strategies meet industry needs.Technical DeliveryLead and support IMS and z/OS workload modernization initiatives (re-platforming, refactoring, API enablement, hybrid cloud integration).Manage and optimize IMS DB/DC workloads supporting high-volume airline operations.Airline & Hospitality Domain Expertise (Preferred)Apply domain knowledge to crew scheduling systems (rostering, legality rules, fatigue compliance, resource optimization).Provide insights into pilot and crew payroll systems, including union/contract-driven pay structures, allowances, and compliance with aviation labor regulations.Ensure modernization outcomes improve both operational efficiency and employee experience.Governance, Security & ComplianceEnsure modernization efforts comply with aviation, labor, and financial regulations (FAA/EASA duty rules, SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS).Implement secure integration strategies for legacy and modernized workloads.Collaboration & LeadershipSupport pre-sales and thought leadership efforts by contributing technical expertise to proposals and client presentations.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong experience in IBM z/OS environments and IMS DB/DC workloads.Proven track record in legacy modernization projects (API enablement, re-platforming, refactoring, or hybrid cloud).Proficiency in JCL, TSO/ISPF, REXX, and mainframe utilities.Client-facing consulting experience: ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience with airline crew scheduling platforms (Jeppesen, AIMS, Sabre Crew, or custom systems).Exposure to airline payroll systems (including pilot pay agreements and complex scheduling/payroll integration).IBM certification in IMS or Db2 for z/OS administration.Experience modernizing workloads within the Travel & Hospitality sector.
